Frequently Asked Questions

How long is your waitlist for telehealth evaluations?
My goal is to get children and families seen as quickly as possible so that you can get the answers to the questions that you have and get your child the supports and services that they need in a timely manner. As such, you can expect to have your child scheduled for an evaluation within 1-2 weeks of contacting me.
Do you offer flexible scheduling?
Yes, absolutely! As a parent myself, I understand how hectic and demanding the schedules of parents and children can be. I offer weekday appointments as well as some weekend appointments, so that your child does not have to miss school to be evaluated if that is a concern. I am also flexible about the time of day, as I can offer both morning and afternoon appointment slots.
Do you take insurance?
No, I do not accept any insurance plans at this time. That said, I am happy to provide clients with a superbill (upon request) to assist in obtaining insurance reimbursement for my services (see next question to learn more about this topic).
What is a superbill and how does it work?
A superbill is an itemized document made for insurance companies that details the services that I have provided to your child/family. After paying for my services out-of-pocket, I can provide you with a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement (if your insurance provides this benefit). Your insurance company then reviews the claim and makes the decision as to whether to reimburse all, some, or none of the services.
Can you see my child if we live outside of the state of Virginia?
Yes! Although my practice is based in Virginia, I hold an interjurisdictional telepsychology mobility license, which allows me to see clients virtually in many different states/areas, including: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
